Seagrove Pottery
This area is just 30 minutes South of Greensboro and is home to the nation's pottery center with over 92 potters some of whom are in their 4th and 5th generation of potters. Two really nice restaurants in the area that have the local 'flavor' of the area. Fantastic shopping and a real popular spot for shoppers, locals, and visitors to our area. Ben Owen of Owen Pottery has been on Good Morning America, the Today Show, etc. and is considered a master potter. FurnitureLand South
The largest furniture store in the world with over 400 manufacturers represented. They give tours with advance notice and there are two restaurants in the main building and one really nice cafe' in the huge accessories building. You could spend two days here with no problem. Greensboro Historical
A magnificent museum with revolving displays throughout the Museum year. Houses the largest collection of Civil War weaponry in the country which was donated by Dr. Murphy. Blandwood Mansion
The original home of Governor John Motley Morehead (19th century Italian Villa) and has most of its original furnishings. The Carriage House (used to be a stable) has been turned into a lovely area for parties. Very nice gift shop on premises. Visit www.blandwood.org for more information.
Richard Petty Museum
A fantastic museum honoring NASCAR nationwide but concentrating on the Petty legacy. Very informative and fun with a fabulous gift shop. You don't even have to be a race car fan to appreciate the museum and the video is wonderful that brings NASCAR racing from moonshine and drag races to where it is today.
